Default 2JZ Swap on a UZS Chassis?

I have a 2001 Lexus GS430 with an empty engine bay. I'm wondering what would have to be done to fit a 2JZGTE in this car. Because the GS430 is a UZS161 chassis, I don't think the 2JZGTE out of a JZS161 chassis will be a direct bolt on.

Can someone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance!!!

Yup, just use the GS300 motor mounts, and it's a direct fit.

Thank you guys for the replies! That makes it one less thing to worry about. Any idea if there will be any wiring conflicts?

Sure will, since you have an 01 430 you will have to run either the aristo ecu, gs300 ecu w/ piggyback, or standalone, and you will have rewire the chassis side ecu connectors to matchup.

Now, the question that comes to mind for me is will the V8 Tach read properly? I know in other cars I've had you needed to swap the tachs out to match weather your using 4, 6, 8 cyl engines. Some makes have pots you can adjust on the cluster or pins you can swap not sure on the GS..

Japspec prob has an answer for the tach question tho..

The Aristo comes with a 3.76 rear diff where as the GS430 has a 3.23 rear ratio. It will have some nice long gearing on the highway but feel sluggish like a wet sponge from a stop.

I'm planning on picking up a complete aristo 2JZ and sending out the harness for work. Hopefully I won't have any issues with the tach or the wiring since I'm planning on having it professionally mated.

Hahah! Thanks for bringing it up to my attention. I'll look into getting a temporary replacement.

The tach will read differently. The V8 tach is programmed to expect more triggers per engine revolution. I had a car come into me with the opposite situation. A GS400 gauge cluster that was somehow in a GS300, I was wondering why the hell the car with a stock was revving to 8000rpm lol! You can either get a GS300 gauge cluster, or get a tach signal conditioner that will fix that issue. It won't affect how the car drives, you will just get a weird reading.

For the rear diff, the cheapest solution is to use one out of a GS300. They can be had online on ebay and slavege yards for close to nothing. You just need to swap you the companion flange on it to fit the driveshaft.

A v160 will partner nicely with the 3:23

Thank you Jeff. Where can I get a tach signal conditioner? This is very useful info to me. Thanks again guys!

Thanks! Would any mechanic be able to hook one up legit? It looks a little complicated but maybe it's because I've never seen one before.

Yes you are correct the tach will be off, you can either swap in a gs300 cluster or just get one of those japanse electronic rev meter displayers lol. I didnt swap out my cluster yet.

It depends if its a completely stock swap, if he gets a boost controller and sharpens the gain it will fix that sluggish feel real quick lol.
