Aristo JOBD Code/Live Data scanning. Greddy/Blitz Displays??

Nah, I'm out of town for work last week and all this week. Gotta a backlog of do other stuff to do around the house this weekend when I get home so the car hasn't been touched. Hopefully I'll have some free time after work on the weekdays next week to go out and mess with the car some.

Well I got it working. An unlocked multi-region version of toyota techstream allowed me to connect to the jobd aristo ecu in the cars stock dlc obdII port without any re-pinning or running additional signal wires. The north-american only version like the dealerships here have would not connect, it would still connect to the body ecu's still but never the jobd engine ecu.
I can verify that it does indeed report the actual code numbers and full descriptions.

Here is a quick pic snapped from my phone of the screen showing I have 10 codes, all related to the auto transmission which I don't have, as well as all of those trans wires have been completely removed from the harness.
This is one of the main reasons I wanted to get this working, since these 10 codes will always be there, it's a huge pain in the *** to ever count a mil light to find out if there any new codes on top of these.
I will do some more playing with this in the upcoming months and try to give some better details about what it takes to get it working..

OK, a couple updates. Techstream will show the Long/Short Term fuel trims and O2 voltage but the issue is that it is very laggy and takes a few seconds to catch up, so it is useless for tuning. This is surely because of the cheap usb converter chipset, and not anything to do with techstream. Using the usb/obd adapter takes a while to connect to the car or switch between modes in general as well. Great for viewing codes and changing c-best options, but not good for any realtime engine diagnostics.

I just received a Greddy Informeter Touch today, so a quick plug into the car and there were no problems recognizing a JOBD 161 ecu in a 160 chassis. Select the Toyota1 options in vehicle setup and it instantly came on and seems to read in realtime just fine. short/long term, 02 v, loop status, ignition timing, injector ms, injector duty cycle, boost, iat, coolant, rpm, maf %, maf v, are all available along with many other values and also is supposed to read engine codes as well, I will try all this out over the next few days.

also your main goal is to keep the fuel trims happy while tunning

I have a couple of Q's. Where did you get your display from? Greddy in the states? Is there a signal ground going back to the Aristo ECU I have a SIL lead but I'm wondering about the TC lead. How do you like the screen response?

I have a 2000 SC300 with an Aristo Swap using the Aristo ECU. I bought a Greddy Informeter also, and it works quite well. I have yet to hook up the boost sensor to see if I get the proper Intake Manifold Pressure, so that is coming in the near future.
