Aristo JOBD Code/Live Data scanning. Greddy/Blitz Displays??
#19
I guess my biggest concern is that the usdm dash harness is what we still use. And obd2 is wired differently depending on what protocol is used. So who says the right wires are where they need to be even if we do get a reader. I've got both wiring diagrams but havnt thoroughly researched all wires yet. The one TC wire is different on the obd2 vs jobd. It's also in a different position in the underhood diag connector. Thoughts?

I know the Greddy and Blitz units work, but I just can't get anyone that has one to tell me if it returns actual Code Numbers, or just a MIL Counter to tell you the number of built up codes there are.

It says in the manual there that it can only display the number of codes, and note then says it cannot breakdown the contents of the codes, and it will not show the actual code number...
Though this is the older R-Vit, I wonder if by chance the R-Vit Color or R-Vit DS have added this feature.. I'm kinda assuming not, they are probally using the same chipset which isn't capable and just added the nicer color display and video output for the DS.. The informeter may be the better candidate now.

And I've emailed a few sellers as well, and they all said if your asian car is obdII it will work, and some never return messages (so they will never get my purchase, If they don't respond to sell you something then there is now way they will respond when you want your money back! too many businesses/sellers with ***** customer service these days)
And also I could get one from japan, and I've been looking. But the the couple low cost ones I've found I can't verify if they have an english setting, all the pics always show the menus in japanese..

4 - Chassis GND
5 - Signal GND
7 - Tx/Rx (ISO 9141-2 K-Line)
16 - +12v
Here is what I have found so far, the JZS161 ECU Pinout reads thats Connector F60 Pin 11 is in fact an "ISO 9141-2 K-Line" Serial Signal for Diagnostics.
Of the 5 connectors for the ECU (on a NON-Immobilizer ECU) the F60 Connector is one of the two that are from the Body and stay intact when you do a GTE Swap (other is F59). The other three B1, B2, and B3 are what comes from the motors harness.
I will try to spend some more time soon and trace the OBD port pin #7 wire back to the engine bay/ecu and see if I can verify wire color and location.
