2003 GS300 going Aristo this fall. Help!
just wanted to ask if anyone is using this combo: gte vvti motor, +01 gs300 transmission w/ 3.76
im going to do the aristo swap around fall/winter and i want to retain most of the original trans parts etc. do i need to modify the drive shaft any? ill be doing the swap and wiring myself. fyi, ill beef up my tranny with the needed parts and cooler. its a weekend steet cruiser so im not looking to break the dyno or anything but i do want around 450 whp.
Helpful replies only! keep the immature bashes and "omg" responses moving
thanks guys

The stock GS/GE 5-spd auto will not work with a full Aristo swap, because the aristo ecu doesn't know how to shift it or use the extra gear.
Just use the 4-spd auto that comes with GTE and the front half of the aristo drive shaft.. All plug and play straight swap.
I believe the 4-spd tranny actually holds the power a bit better the the 5-spd anyway..

It's as about direct of a swap as it gets, you just need to have a downpipe/midpipe custom made or modify a supra one to work, and there is the heater core/firewall clearance problems with the stock twin turbos..
But since you have a 2003 you will have to rewire the cars harness to match up with the aristo ecu.. Jefftsai has all the diagrams posted around the forum if you search for them.

nice input fellas! im actually getting with Jeff on the swap so together we'll make it A-1
99 gs3; i guess i could single it to get some clearance from the core/firewall. something not too huge but mid-size and efficient like a sard compressor or blitz unit. id love to put a t51r on it.
epic1si; are you local in the DFW area so i could check out your setup?

Yea i know that car it was done by chris and farley in florida sold to a guy in maryland and you bought it. Looks good but nobody uses the eshift option thats why people dont wire it up and in japan they disable the vsc and they use the greddy fuel cut instead of the hks fcd which is the worst fcd to use.

thanks for the link 99, as well as everyones responses! such great info.
tranny question, outside of getting the torque converter upgraded and a cooler, are there any other modifications needed to the stock tranny to handle 400-450whp? remember this is a spirited driven vehicle, not a full out racer. more for highway pulls and the sort.
