Default Using Apexi Neo with SRT intake?

Has anyone tried replacing the srt piggyback ecu with the apexi neo to tune the srt intake as well as other performance mods?

I have a faulty srt ecu I'm going to just set aside and use the Apexi Neo to tune the srt intake to work. Still waiting for SRT to send me their new ecu. But I want to see higher gains even after installing the intake because my set up right now includes the tanabe medallion axle-back with resonators replaced with straight pipes and the srt intake.

Long story short, would I be able to use the intake with the apexi neo instead of the srt piggyback?

Ive been wanting to do that for a while now. I think the srt ecu doesn't do the best job possible and the neo would actually be tuned by someone.

Do you plan on taking it to a shop and having it tuned?

yes you will see the gains for all your performance mods. the SRT is tuned only for the intake so if you have an exhaust and other items you will benefit from the NEO.

your car should run with the intake but it will throw a CEL. I tried it on my car since I have a 3gen and wasnt sure if the piggy back would work on my car, also didnt want to cut any wires. My car ran but it threw a CEL and it ran lean in bank 1 & 2.

If your car wont start with out it something else may be going on. Did you take it out and connect all the factory wires back up?

But yes you will be happy with the tune of the NEO if you have other performance upgrades.

I'm not sure if it was cause I forgot to reconnect the sensor 1 wires but is there any way to find out by myself if I have a bad ecu? would the cel just turn on?

FYI
some guys w/ 2nd gen GS's had issues trying to run car w/o SRT ecu unit. The car would stall out or difficult to start & stay running.

I know weird,Mine was hard to keep idling if I unplugged the ECU box & reconnect the MAF wire.
