Default Exhaust for my IS350

Im looking to put an Exhaust system on my 07 IS350. Can anyone tell me what's the best sounding and which system will give me the best performance gain. I don't want the sound to be really loud, looking for a nice low deep sound.

Does anyone have the f series exhaust form lexus and if you do, do you like it. is it worth the money.

Nobody can, since each person will have their own opinion on that. There's lots of sound clips here (if you search) and on youtube you can listen to though.

Do you want/need it to be legal?

if so then you'll be buying an axle-back. All of which produce roughly the exact same 7 whp gain.

If you don't need legal then you're looking at 10-12 hp for a full exhaust system with or without illegal cats on it, but at roughly 1.5-2.5x the price of the axle-backs.

Tanabe is generally considered the "least loud" of the aftermarket axle-backs (and is among the least expensive, while offering excellent build quality)

Many folks do, and if you search you'll find dozens of threads discussing it.

If you want something soft go with the Lexus HKS. But it is discountinued. I've got Lexus HKS and Tanabe before. Now I have F-sport with Nvidia midpipe. Probably the loudest setup you can possibly find.

I have an f-sport and I like it. "best sounding" is 99.9% up to you.

I just bought and installed F-sport 2 weeks ago and I'm happy with it.

Like you I muled over which one will sound and look the best and as you'll likely find most recommended Fsport for that nice "not too quite, not too loud" tone.

It's louder then I thought it would be (after reading what folks said on CL), but it's not ricey or unbearable. Mine gets the loudest around 2-3k so you can pretty much drive it to be louder or more mellow in Sport mode depending on how ya feel.

Fujitsubo is quieter than Tanabe, but will cost a little more.

F-sport exhaust is loud in the beginning, but you'll get used to the sound. Honestly.. I want to put a Invidia midpipe combo with my f-sport. I heard it on youtube, and it sounded BADASS!! BUT I'm afraid of Cali Cops >=/

You should go to car meets of meet up with people in your area with different exhaust setups just to hear them before you go for one. I spent my time picking te exhaust and decided to go with the fsport over tanabe and haven't regretted it. If Cali didn't suck I would have gotten the Joez race exhaust.

For what's available on the market now, I would go with FSport over other axle-backs. It's tuned by HKS and you know they are one of the best tuners of exhaust systems.

i got the Lexus HKS exhaust and I am happy with it. Gives a nice growl when you press on the gas pedal. Now too loud not too soft. It is discontinued, but the f-sport is the next comparable exhaust.

I would suggest to look at the Joe Z exhaust. best sounding exhaust ive heard and i think it gives you the best performance boost.

The Joe Z does give a couple more hp than the axle-backs, and it's well made, beautiful, and sounds good.... but it's illegal in California (and all 49 other states, but CA is where you're most likely to get caught, and where the OP is from)

F-sport + nvidia midpipe. I get compliment all the time about my exhaust. Since it's Thanksgiving, I'll see if I can get a sound clip of my car with my DSLR camera.
