Default GS300 Misfiring

OK...i guess its my turn. I got misfires in cyl #3 and #6. Car is sputtering. I haven't had a chance to look more into yet....sparkplugs? ignition coils? injectors?

Anyone got the order of the cylinders for GS300?

Funny how you mention that mine was doing this last week showing codes for multiple misfire. I forget which 3 cyl were problems but I messed with it all day and came up empty let it sit overnite and started it and it has ran perfect since. My positive terminal on battery was slightly loose I made sure it was real tight when I unhooked it to reset computer. The correct cylinder order is 1-6 starting at 1 closest to radiator.

Cylinder order is 1 to 6, front to back.

Hard to say from the description, may be as simple as plugs if they haven't been changed in a long time. Not very often the coils go bad but if you have a dead coil you can just unplug them one at a time and see if the idle changes, if you unplug one and there is no change then you know you most likely have a bad coil.

The 2JZ firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4.

Plug and coil pack 1-6 connected, 2-5 connected, 3-4 connected.

I have several sets of spare coil packs, wires, and igniters for sale if you need

Finally had time to check out the misfiring issue today.....cleaned the plugs with a towel....and switched plugs #1 and #3 around....and plugs #5 and #6 around....to see if its the plugs that caused the misfires.....re-installed everything...started it up....purrr'd like a kitten...no misfires at all....WTF!?!?!?

Ran the OBD II scanner...no codes.

Shut down the engine....let it sit for a few minutes...then started it back up...still nothing....ran scanner again....again...no misfires...everything is good.

Pete

Sounds just like my problem ! Bought new plugs & wires just havent installed them yet. My plugs are original with 160,000 miles. Only drove car local lately and as long as i baby it its not that bad but step on it hard it sputters. Since resetting ecu the cel has not came back on but still sputters. I hope plugs & wires cure the problem !

if plugs, wires and coils are good. the only thing left would be the injector itself. ohm test the injector that is misfiring on whichever cylinder and ohm test the other injectors see if the values are same. If not then the culprit is the injector. But that only pertains to 1 cylinder, if you got multiple misfire than check the coils.

Default Coil 4 is misfiring.

Going to change coil 4 and spark plug wires. Let see what happens.
