I guess im a little confused here, is there a speed sensor in the Diff? or is all of the speedometer info grabbed from the wheels?

-EDIT-
Never mind me, just checked the sensor lineup on alldata and found out that I am indeed an idiot.

Your new differential and old differential have different final drive gearing ratios.

It's like changing the rear sprocket on a bicycle. The final drive ratio determines the wheel speed relative to the driveshaft. The GS300 has a different final drive ratio than the 400 and 430 because it has less torque. In a GS300, the wheels will spin 3.92 times for every rotation of the driveshaft, in a GS430 (I'm not sure about 400) the ratio is 3.27. If I had to guess, I'd guess that the shop installed a GS300 diff with the higher ratio, which would give you better acceleration but your RPM at a given speed will be higher.
