I've read that Short Ram doesn't really yield any real gains, but they make sound, which contributes to the placebo effect of a faster car.
The CAI do much better - the F-Sport and Joe Z.
Both are essentially the same, except that the F-Sport is louder b/c of the intake box, while the Joe Z can achieve the same sound just by drilling holes in the intake box or ordering the lower half of the F-Sport intake box.
Another main difference is that the F-Sport is CARB certified, while Joe Z is much cheaper - provides the best bang for your buck.

Yup. If not in CA get the Joe Z. Max gains for least cost. Drill holes in the airbox if you really want more noise. If in CA (or MS ever brings back the huge Ebay cashback offers so the price gets close to the Joe Z setup) get the F-sport.

My IS300 passed with flying colors.... It had a Polsihed pipe with red sleeves..

Once the stock airbox and MAF sensor are in correct location, there really isn't much to dispute about..
Especially if the sniffer says ALL OK..

Now with the Stealth Black on Black as the main color combo, it just about passes as stock on any IS300, IS250, IS350, IS-F or the upcoming IS-C

Regards,

Joe Z

Yeah, you only have to worry about hydrolocking with a CAI since its positioned so low.

I would get the F-sport. It is legal, sounds better, and you maintain the original warranty.

I have had the fujita, f-sport and now recently installed JoeZ intake. Me personally
I love it.. I do notice a difference with the Joez intake from F-sport.
IMO it's up to you which one you go with. it's your money and your car..
Good luck with the choice.
Besides you can always by one and get another one next year..LOL...j/k..
