Default Import Tuner Magazine - GS400 Bolt Ons (Dyno Results Included)

I searched and did not see a post for this month ITM on the GS so I will post up scans of mods to the GS400 conducted and dynoed. As usual comments are always welcome. Like the Y-Pipe is the bomb!!!!!

*Disclaimer: MODS Please move/delete if in wrong thread or repost*

While its nice and all to have all the bolt ons, something like a SAFC is greatly needed to tune it for optimal performance.

(btw dyno 3 and 4 are out of order)

Gee, the wheel gaps on that GS looks a lot different than what comes out of the factory

The Hybridynamics y-pipe is not bad for the cost, but for the price, I may consider running a full x-pipe setup instead. Too bad you lose the cat though.

I must have a handicapped car. Mine is a GS430 and my torque is only 250...that's with torque master plug and SRT w/race ecu. Depressing -when the number is lower than a gs400 stock.

Two things:
  • As much as I love my car, from a strictly performance standpoint, $1,073 for 14whp and 17wtq is a waste of $ IMO. If the exhaust sound, etc. is important, too, that changes things slightly. Seriously, 1.9wtq for the y-pipe? WHY BOTHER?
  • A Neo and some headers would've had a much bigger gain, and would be roughly the same price.

^^ You need to consider the power gain throughout the rev band, and not just peak numbers. The Y-pipe gained a bit more power through the midrange. In fact, most of the gains for these mods occurred at midrange.
