How many OCVs are in 2000 Lexus GS300 engine (2JZ-GE)? I have been able to figure out one so far based on youtube videos and other material i have seen on net so far. If there is another second one too then can someone provide a video or extact location details of the second OCV?

Angus, I couldn't find filters and a few inquiries in other places suggested they don't exist in the 1UZFE. I know there were mid-year design changes because on my '98 SC400, there are several part numbers which even confuse the Lexus dealers (like the radiator hoses). The OCV's are just behind the top 2 timing belt covers and I didn't even have to pull those off to reach them. If I can find a drawing and how to upload, I will. BTW, there is a Dorman part which matches the Lexus OEM part in form, fit and function and if I can find it, I'll follow up. Lexus seems to think their genuine parts are made of Kryptonite so the Dorman part is way less expensive. The OCV's only have one bolt holding them in. Be careful with the Dorman part numbers because they make several parts which are for other Lexus's and Toyotas which use the same core but the mounting ears are rotated at different angles.

MY 98 LS400 threw a P1349 today with the VSC flashing off. The oil change was overdue to be honest. I have looked around and it seems that I should replace what seems to be called the VVT Solenoid. What is an OCV? BTW She has 167,000 on her.

VVT solenoid seems to be the passenger side VVT oil control valve and driver side seems to be called the oil control valve. You can clean the old high mileage valves, but i opted for buying cheap aftermarket ones, they've done the trick for me.

Thanks!
I appreciate you clarifying the differences. I was getting confused. I am gonna take you advice and get some cheap ones. The local parts stores want $107 apiece. 😲.
Thanks again!
