I got two codes coming up
p0763 tranny solenoid
and p0715 turbine speed
I had my car fixed at exact motorsports
he put in a new solenoid for 600
the light was gone for about 3k miles maybe
on occasion i remember it came on before that but went away
now again the light is on and wont go off
what is the real problem?
anybody?

Just curious if you have given them a chance to look at again? Most quality shops prefer to get a chance to fix any possible oversight they may have made.

I have a 1999 Lexus GS400, and I had the same OBD II code (P0763), which is the solenoid C electrical malfunction. My Lexus dealer replaced the solenoid ($240 labor, and $224 for the discounted solenoid from Carson Toyota), and the car seems to shift with a more positive feel and doesn't subtlely slip when cold like it used to. As an FYI, over the past 3 months, my car would intermittently trip this code off and on (mostly it would stay off, and if it went on, it would stay on for a couple of days), and I finally got around to replacing the solenoid. Also of note, my dealer stated that while car didn't have the CEL on at the time of service, it had the same code stored as a pending code (i.e. it was to trip off again)--so if the solenoid wasn't replaced, it would have gone off again--not surprisingly.

Nonetheless, from what I gather from the factory service manual, when you get a P0763, it can be the following:

1. The ECM (main engine computer)
2. The wiring harness from the ECM to the solenoid
3. The solenoid itself (the P0763 states that the solenoid is either electrically "closed" or "open", that is, it's either shorted (stays on when it shouldn't) or has an open loop (i.e. it won't turn on when it's supposed due to a break in the circuit).

From what you've mentioned--you've had the solenoid replaced 3 months prior, you might want the dealer to test #1 and #2 more thoroughly. Of course, if you have any particles present in your transmission fluid, they could be plugging up the same solenoid again--that's also something to think about.

Based on the labor rate and factory manual instructions, it SEEMS that the solenoid is visible and accessible once you take off the ATF pan and the ATF filter--no need to take off the valve body.

For future reference, here's the part required to fix the P0763 code (assuming it's not the ECM or the wiring harness):

Solenoid Assembly, Transmission 3Way, No.2 [aka Solenoid "C"]
Part #: 35230-30010

For complete identification of what solenoid A, B, C, etc. is, refer to Toytota's TSIB: TC004-05 [A650E Transmission Solenoid Identification] as their nomenclature is different from the standard automotive convention.

Jeff, that'd be great, if you can post pics of the process, so others can get a better idea of what's involved.

jeff that would be great i think i am going to take it back to exact
he knows better than i do
i had the tranny flushed
lately the car feels very sluggish and feels like it doesnt even drive in lower gears even if i step on full WOT it will still shift
E-shift has the flashing M light
sometimes it goes back i dont know
i have no clue
is there a diy or manual for this

i installed a srt intake and ecu after the solenoid was replaced could that be a problem

solenoid c? cuz if the other code went away that means he replaced that one?
im assuming i guess it be better for him to just get the part whatever it is on his own

A flashing "M" is obviously a transmission problem. Tearing down a tranny to change out the solenoid does not absolutely fixes the problem apparently. That's the reason why most shop would recommend getting another transmission. Now days, transmission are just to complex to be fixed, but instead be replaced.

In addition, I did heard for some tranny, if you run another line to the gear that is not shifting properly would aid this problem.

I drew the solenoid error code and my 98 gs400 has lost e shift. Strangely though, it sometimes comes back on and the CEL turns off.
It lasts about a day then back to the flashing "M"

The car seems to shift fine though so I hope its just a minor problem.
