Default OEM intake w/o snorkel in dusty conditions

Is it possible that the OEM intake without the snorkle will provide better performance in very Hot and Dusty weather??

I live in Desert, and right now its ridiculously hot, (+45deg C) Also we suffer from some very dusty/sandy weather as there is alot of loose sand being blown around

I took my snorkel off primarily for the sound ( winter time) and the first time i did this, i beleive i noticed a very small drop in power.

Now that the weather was hot I decided to put the snorkel back on, That lasted all of 5 mins, as i didnt feel any gains, if anything, the car was less responsive and didnt sound nearly as good

My questions is this, if the weather is extremely hot and dusty would the Intake work better just sucking cleaner hot engine air than the with the snorkel where its sucking hot but dusty air ??

Maybe the ECU needed more time to adjust and thats why i felt no diff between snorkel on and off. interested in hearing what people thing

if thats the case, then it would make sense for me to invest in an aftermarket intake. I was gonna do just for the sound, but now ill be doin for sound + minor performance

BTW all test were done on the BUTTdyno, so while inaccurate, its still relevant

the air in the engine bay will still be hotter because it's about the outside temp + heat from the engine (+ dust) so i really don't think its possible.

well im assuming heat in the engine would be more than the heat of the outside air. But because there will be less humidity and less dust then it might work out to be better.
I dunno

Arguably it might provide healthier air in terms of denotation etc, but i dont see how it can provide better performance. The air is hotter in the engine bay so it isn’t as dense as the outside air. Less O2 = less burn.

We need a way to feed colder air to the air intake... A/C reroute DIY? (j/k)
