So be it.

Fully weighted gs300 street legal w/AC too!

vids from 2007 racing season. 2008 didn’t race much . It will be pretty fast for 2009 racing season. It will be hard not getting kicked out from racing. The dilemma, cage or no cage. No cage , can’t run any faster than 11.49. Hope to see some of the locals this summer at the track!

Default Fast camry lol. many say that about the ARISTO conversion.

experimenting with wheel setup for 2009.

Bogat front skinnies 4.5x15 w/1" spacers extended wheel studs.
MT Drag Slicks rears 28x9.5x15

high 9's no problem, will be shooting for mid to low 9's for 2009.
that is if the track doest kick me off.

btw, this is a fully weighted USD JZS147 with AC. its actually heavier than the OE and tips over 4000lbs with 1/2 full tank and me in the driver seat.

putting in a cage 6 pt will add another 90 to 100lbs.

2009 racing season should be an interesting

Default fun at the track

I love visiting different tracks and rolling out of the trailer a 4 door sedan that has the VIP look. You get many looks and laughs. that usually ends when the see your 60ft # flash on the board and for a few seconds, there is silence in the spectator stands as they wait for your ET and MPH to show. Then you hear the WTF's, what was that? was that for real, the other guy had problems, the other guy let-off blah, blah, blah....

The funniest experience is when the other racers is rumbling next to you and gives you the nod or thumbs up thinking they are going to blow you away. At the launch, they think they left you behind back at the tree but as they look at their rear view mirror and don't see you, they quickly glance over to the side to see where you are.

I usually like to stay in the blind side and I wait for the other racer to look for me. When I see them looking, I creep up, look over and give them the thumbs up and grab the steering wheel with both hands just in time when the surge happens and you hear the wheel chirp and the car just Go’s!

In a split second, you can see the bug-eyed look on their face and many times I see them saying hollycrap or WTF and it’s a priceless thing to see. No disrespect to the other racers but rather it’s my way of getting respect on the track.

I've met many new friends at the tracks I visit. They have a hard time believing that a 3.0 I6 can put down so much power. They also look at the weight of the car that’s posted on the door sills and when they see the AC and they ask if it works, they always ask, do you spray, how much power does the car put down etc...

Some racers do get upset when you beat them, they too come over to my pit area and walk around the car trying to figure out how a four door sedan can go down the track so fast.

I've been beat by Honda civics and some WRX's but come-on these guys have a stripped down chassis, mine is fully weighted and I only loose within a tenth or two clicks. This is when it becomes fun at the track.

We need more 4 door sedans at the track to get more respect both on and off the track. Hope to run into other CL members at the track for 2009 racing season, or even at car show events! I found one of my time slip from 2007. I'm 649/649x. a 4-door sedan can run 10's in a quarter mile.

12's or 13's are respectable numbers for GS300/400's. Its a heavy car.

I'll be experimenting this season and will remove the interior except for the drivers seat and see what difference it makes as I shot for the 9's.

I replaced the TT brakes with NA brakes, I now have the wheel setup as you see in the picture and removing the seats should shave at least 250lbs or a bit more.

Going faster is an adiction and now I know what others have been saying all along.

Locally in the Chicagoland area someone did a twin turbo'd SC400. I hope to meet up with them this year and maybe get them to go to the track for some fun.

I see more and more GS platforms with performance mods from baisc to extreme and many different age groups. I fall into the middle age group but have a heart of the younger racing enthuiss.

Many will want to either get on a dyno to determine their RWHP, others will take it to the drag strip to find out what they can do in a 60ft, mph and their trap speeds.

There are good number of GS builds now and it would be great to keep this thread going and posting each others progress.

My thoughts...It would be great to put a section in this thread for 1st, 2nd, 3rd gen GS and then break them down into specfic categories/class etc..

Here's an example: (cant go horizontal not enough room) ideally, this would be like a chart. we can develop one but will need a link and a host, but we can figure that out once we can get more idea's what useful data is best captured. If you have idea's post up or email me with your thoughts and examples.

My fastest time is a 14.25 in my jzs147. My jzs161 should do a low 11 pretty easy coming up in 2 weeks. I'll see if I can track down my timeslip for the jzs147. If not, it's cool. Maybe I'll take it back out as well.
