Just ran my GS400 last night at my local track, its only 1/8 mile and the best i could get out of it was a 9.4@76mph, i was kinda dissapointed as i most i read run around 9.1 stock, mine is bone stock, just bought it a few weeks ago from a older man. not sure what the best way to run these cars off the line. i got the 9.4 from just turning off the VSC and pushing the PWR button for the tranny and gunning it off the line, i didnt think the M mode would do better since you can only start in 2nd gear. any suggestions for a better time?

My experience has been to keep the VSC ON. Turning it off just creates more spin, less traction, slower times.. and yes manual mode is good for high way runs or once you get moving, but off the line is no bueno, again this is my experience on a STOCK GS4.

ok, i just noticed that is you break traction the car goes into limp mode for a second till the car recovers, but either way i didnt spin at all.

I did a few runs at the local track, The Strip at LVMS, on Friday night. More or less I wanted a 'baseline' before performing a lot of maintenance. Before the next track event I will have changed the trans fluid, engine oil, spark plugs, air filter, MAF/throttle cleaning, and most likely send out the injectors for cleaning.

The vehicle is a '98 GS400. The car is 100% OE spec with all fluids, interior, and spare tire installed. Most runs were with a half tank of gas. The tires are 245/40/17 Michelin Primacy HP on factory 17" wheels. VSC was turned off, and with a decent burnout I had zero wheel spin. I myself weigh 240lbs. The torque converter was preloaded and a nice launch.

15.10 @ 93.3

Sorry for the blurry picture.

I realize It's not going to make the "Top 10" but I figured this was a good thread to post info. Mods, feel free to move it to a more appropriate thread or inform me to make a new one. Thank you.

Well I hit my goal, when I first bought this car years ago my goal was to make it quicker than my old 1999 Dodge Viper GTS which ran 10.29 in the 1/4. Today I ran 10.22 @ 137 MPH in the big heavy pig! I was so happy with the time and there is more in it! This car will go 9's, the tune is still in progress!

Thank you Darin Dichara from DD Tuning. You sir are the best!!

Still on a stock bottom end!

Anyone else going to FL2K? It should be a bad as event, the same guys that organize the Texas 2K events are doing this one. here in Florida. I will be running the Lexus there with a new set up. Over 250 more RWHP than it did when I ran that 10.2 time.

Guess I'd be #6 on the list, I ran a 12.8@111mph, got the slip to prove it, I'll get a pic.

Was my 2nd pass in the car, no launch, didn't stall it up or anything just drove it out. That was on my 19x11 rear w/265/40 street tire. Gonna give #1 a run for its money in the spring, 3rd pass on the car the bottom end took a ****, think we dropped fuel pressure.

Fixing the bottom end this winter, walboro 450 pump, e85 28lbs, should make 650+whp and go 10's on a slick in the spring. Will launch in boost then...
