While I have looked at many who have been doing makeovers and modding their cars, I have always wanted to do the same. Granted, I think that my car could use a visual makeover as it is becoming almost 11 years since I purchased the car. I think that I wanted to start with a new powerplant. I still have not realized the total power of my GS400TT due to limitations of a stock bottom end and the transmission rated to hold about 400-450 rwhp reliably. So I have started anew.
I have consulted many folks about information on what worked and didn't work for them and have come to where I am today. A few really come to mind that have helped me with info and leading me down the path of being broke!! But what a great ride this has been, even if it hasn't gone smoothly. Just a few props. Wicked Machine Racing, Izumi Racecraft, Adesai8, Aliga, Cowboybebop, Morris, TTurbopimp, Lextreme and Ty at IPT.
So what do you do with a used block?
with a piston like this?
You purchase something like this.
And connect it with this (Lextreme Lightning Rods)

Reason: updating pics
Then one other thing needed to be addressed is the weak link from trying to make more power and still have reliability.
here is a little info on the Tranny build from IPT
REAR WHEEL DRIVE
Valve body is custom calibrated to provide the ultimate in clutch application power and clamping force (The modifications performed by us are a proprietary design and are unavailable elsewhere)
Virtually indestructible Raybestos Blue Plates are installed in all shifting clutches
*NEW FEATURE* We have now developed the industry's only 6 friction disk C-2 clutch pack for a 50% increase in third gear holding capacity.
New one way clutches (sprags) are installed in all locations
Planetary splines are heat treated to prevent stripping
Metalax treatment is applied to input shaft to eliminate stress related failure
Sun shell is heat treated to prevent spline stripping
New design high flow solenoid assemblies are installed
Lube system is redesigned to provide increased flow and cooler operation
Performance pressure regulator boost valve is installed to prevent sluggish line pressure rise and to increase clutch holding ability.
NOTE: This unit is the strongest configuration that can be achieved with this Toyota transmission. However, if you are running much faster than 9.99 we recommend the installation of a domestic three speed or Powerglide transmission. These units also enable you to enjoy the many benefits of a Trans Brake and 8", 9", or 10" torque converter. See our specialty RWD section or call us for details.
There are a few more goodies still in transit and I will update as it comes in. I hope to have this project done in 4-6 weeks.

How much power are you shooting for? What are the turbo specs? How much boost will you be running? What fuel/engine management are you using? Good luck with your build!!!
