Is the "Street Performance" SMOG legal in CA? I'm assuming "Race Performance" isn't since it removes the cats, but the Street ones should be fine, right?

It says California certified cats. What does that mean exactly they're CARB exempt? I thought it was illegal to change out the cat's in CA no matter what? I might consider this exhaust if it's quiet.

Joe,

I'm in the LA area if you want to get together to do some sound/video clips.

Lightbulb Dyno Graphs

Ok gang... here are the DYNO's which were performed on a Bone Stock 2006 IS350.
During this part of the R&D process, I did not have my 08' IS350 yet..

We had a Base run with a 265 rhwp pull, but some how the data file was lost.
So we had to use the base run for the graph which shows the 262rwhp base run pull..

The Dyno was completed on a stock IS350 which only had the exhaust upgraded for the DYNO's.
Also, testing was done in normal mode and only up tp 4th gear...

Below is the dyno graph of the Base run verses the "Street Performance" version w/ CATS.

- Gains will be approx 8 peak rwhp on this system.

*******************************************************

Below is the dyno graph of the "Street Performance" version w/ CATS verses the "Race Performance" version w/ OUT CATS

- Gains will be approx 10 peak rwhp on this system.

Thank You
Joe Z

Both versions are Full Aftermarket exhaust replacement parts and carry the disclaimer:

“For Off Road Use Only”

The "Street Performance" version includes two high flow Carb Certified CATS.

Does that make more sense now??

It would be really interesting to see these results stacked up against the results of another popular exhaust such as the tanabe.

How much does the exhaust weigh? is it lighter than the stock setup? if so by how much?

and is there any interior drone or resonation?

On the "Street Performance" version there is no high speed droning or resonating sounds.. There is definitely a lower rpm rumble, but nothing obnoxious sounding at all..

On the "Race Performance" version there is no high speed droning or resonating sounds. The overall sound does slightly increase on this version, due to the lack of CATS. However, it is still a Sport Luxury Sound.

OEM Exhaust Weight

Front-Mid Section = 28lbs
Rear Axle Section = 40lbs
Total = 68

Street Performance Weight

Front Section w/CATS = 16 lbs
Mid Section w/Resonators = 20lbs
Dual Rear Sections w/Mufflers & Tips = 32 lbs
Total = 68

Race Performance Weight

Front Section NO CATS = 13 lbs
Mid Section w/Resonators = 20lbs
Dual Rear Sections w/Mufflers & Tips = 32 lbs
Total = 65

The exhaust looks like its sitting in the right place to me. The tips cant be too close to the bumber b/c the rubber hangers allow for some play and no one wants to hear their tips rattling against the bumper...not to mention that heat can sometimes become an issue too.

Nice work JoeZ!!! I am offiacally on TeamEnvy...that is until i purchase mine

When is the GB gonna go down?

I wish the exhaust tips were oval. But i like how the joints and the welds are really clean.

How would you compare this to the Greedy exhaust?

Thanks! looks like a great product and will be probably sell for it self.

Count me in!!! Definitely PM me when the group buy is available if I don't buy it already. You do tons of research, have probably the best selling performance accessory, and I'm very confident with your work. So I'm down for the exhaust, and I'm down for the support!
