i'm going to run 24x12x3 w/ 3" outlets and it fits perfectly between the crash bar and the ac condenser. You can even fit a 4" in there but 3" should be enough in most cases.

Default Dimensions

Hey guys I am looking at FMIC's too.

When you quote dimensions - are you quoting overall dimensions or the core size?

Lastly, what is the best size to go for without modification to vehicles structure i.e. cutting and trimming etc.

I'm bringing this one back from the dead. My intercooler "CORE" is 24 X 12 X 4 however I had to remove the crash bar to make it fit and it was very tight, it wound up putting pressure on the bumper cover and it rubbed on the lower a/c line and eventually made a hole in it over the years. Right now I'm in the process of redoing my intercooler, installing a new A/C line and moving around my intercooler pipes to make room for my new Zirgo fans.

The problem I'm having is I can't find my old bumper reinforcement so It's hard to take dimensions without that installed. I want the largest intercooler I can possibly fit as I'm running over 800 HP to the wheels. From reading this thread it looks like Burton has the largest one here, Burton if you're still here does your intercooler clear the crash bar / A/C lines well? I just ordered one similar so I'm going to see how it works out.

why not get a tubular crash bar made around it Adam?

The crumple zones won't work correct, also there is no room at all with the stock bumper cover, it's already very tight hitting the bumper cover up front and hitting the lower a/c line on the condenser in the rear.

I had planned to use a Treadstone unit in my swap.

Overall Size 26.50" X 12.00" X 3.50"
Core Size 25.00" X 6.00" X 3.50"
3.00" Inlet/Outlet
1000 Hp efficient

I guess the outlet position is not ideal on the above Treadstone intercooler. This one is rated to 1000hp, but has a better outlet location.

-Core Size, 12.5" X 22" X 4.5"
-Overall length 30"
-Less than 2psi pressure drop at max flow
-3" inlet/outlet
-4.5" core, 1469 CFM flow rate, 860hp efficient, 1.5psi drop

Or this one that is 3.5" thick.

I bought the 24 X 12 X 3. It did fit well behind the crash bar, I had to bend my a/c line into a much tighter bend where it enters the condenser. My car has gone 10.2 @ 140 MPH with this intercooler and I expect to go deep into the 9's @ 150 MPH+ in the coming weeks.
