Default 99 lexus gs300 exhaust manifold

I am in desperate need of some help. I have a PO 420 check engine lit, and my dealer tells me that I need some new cats which are $1100. Anyway, I found a set of exhaust manifolds that came off of a 2000 GS 300. The dealer claims that the part numbers are different; thus, the part is different. Anyone have any insight on this?

It depends, I believe the 98-00 models have a different header than the 01-05 models. I'm pretty sure the headers on a 99 will fit on a 00 and vice versa.

Not sure why the part number is different though.
