Hey t0e, What do you mean with the "help of JoeZ"???? I noticed that you have tips that are different then anyone else.

I myself am not a fan of oval tips, but like that matters. I am just curious of what you meant by "help of joez".

I think someone else asked you the same question above and you didn't answer.

Default Exhaust Poll, (Exhaust owners please leave input on your exhaust here!!)

Lexus IS250/IS250-AWD /IS350: 2006 IS350

Which Exhaust: HKS Hi-Power

Dyno: Stock 260.0 HP/232.1 ft-lbs
w/K&N Typhoon 261.1 HP/239.0 ft-lbs (gained 7hp in the midrange)
w/K&N Typhoon and HKS Hi-Power 247.9 HP/220.4 ft-lbs (loss 13 HP/19 ft-lbs)

Did you feel any Hp/Tq difference, if yes, how much/where in the powerband, ect? Yes...I'm pissed off my car got slower!

Comments on your exhaust: I picked HKS Hi-Power because i like the look and the sound. But i am very disappointed in the performance of my exhaust. The combination of intake and exhaust sound really good but i can really feel the loss of torque from 2-5k rpms. I added all the upgrades the same day (saturday) so it cant be the temp or weather that caused the loss.

Everyone, I've created a new thread here to help iizzle3fiz troubleshoot his power loss, and to avoid from completely derailing this thread from it's initial intent - to gather feedback on aftermarket exhaust systems. I've moved all the posts pertaining to the troubleshooting into that thread as well.

Ha, yeah. THat's what I'm thinking too. Why would anyone want to create a loss in power after spending hundreds of dollars on parts?

After this thread, I'm not changing anything. Stock specs=maximum efficiency. Lexus engineers spent thousands of hours tuning our cars for best operation. I'm not going to mess it up by adding something that will disrupt that. Going FI is another story. OMG, the ultimate upgrade.

Default IS350_Megan "Header Back" Exhaust

My Dyno results proved that my exhaust is effective...

Dyno w/ only INJEN SRI = 252hp
Dyno w/ INJEN SRI & Megan = 268hp

Same dyno

I've said it before...Not sure if it makes a huge difference but the Megan set up replaces the secondary cats and attatches directly to the headers... No codes were thrown..

Oh yea...And for the record...I am that 1% on this poll that owns the Megan Exhaust haha Sweet

Damn, the exhaust design looks sloppy. I didn't realize there were that many bends.

Lexus IS350
HKS Hi-Power

Dyno: No
Did you feel any Hp/Tq difference, if yes, how much/where in the powerband, ect? Not with acceleration (torque), but the car does maintain higher speeds while coasting.
Comments on your exhaust: A bit too loud; I will decide whether I will keep it or not in the next few weeks...

I love the look and sound of my Borla exhaust. There's nothing nicer than a true catback exhaust.

Just an FYI from someone that is not an expert but knows a little bout mechanics....for those of you looking to get much out of an exhaust alone, dont. Buy one because you love the sound of it and the look. The exhaust alone will give you very minimal hp gains but shouldnt ever give you a loss. when you add headers w/o cat, you will get the maximum out of your exhaust. just my .02

magnaflow, with custom piping in the midsection.

Personally, at the prices of most of these exhaust and how little of gains you get from them, I don't think any are worth it (cept maybe the borla)
