New hood for GS400
I posted this on the "maintenance" section but someone said I should post it in this forum. I'm a new guy so bear with me. Anyway, I just picked up a 98 GS400. A jealous ex-boyfriend didn't like me hanging around his ex and decided to do some custom bodywork. Kicked in a fender and then apparently sat on the hood. I was just wondering if there were any aftermarket options for my hood. I thought I saw a carbon-fiber type hood on a photo somewhere in this forum but can't find it anymore. The body shop wants to charge around $340 for the hood but then there's the paint and labor to paint the hood and blend it with the bumper, fenders etc. I figured I could pay more for a hood that maybe I wouldn't have to paint, or at least wouldn't have to worry about blending in areas around the hood. Any suggestions?

I looked at Wings West, Veilside, and TRD but couldn't find anything. Anymore suggestions? I also second that request for some photos of aftermarket hoods!

there aren't that many hoods out there for the GS. I know VeilSide and IMC, but don't know who else.
Does the VeilSide hood fit on GS300s? The air duct thing looks like it'll interfere with the engine (or maybe not)
Will this hood work with the stock hydraulic supports? CF hoods don't and I'm wondering if I have to hold the hood to keep it open.

I don't think the inverted scoop is that deep to be able to hit the engine. But i'm not sure about the support bars, but i guess you can modify it to work, I'll keep you inform though.
