Default Lexus 1uz v8 twin turbo Supra=1500 hp!

Hey guys, you should check out the supraforums. There is a 1500 horsepower supra powered by the lexus 1uz v8. It is at www.supraforums.com, then go to general info, and go thru the pages untill you guys see "HKS twin turbo 1500 hp v8 supra". there is also a picture of the beast at www.mkiv.com. go to readers ride and look towards the bottom of the page, it should have a list with the HKS drag car. What do you guys think about that monster?

toyosupra,

I hope HKS worked out all the traction kinks in that car because it will slip like a **** with all that power. By the way it is not powered by a Lexus engine but a Celsior's 1UZ-FE... same engine. I like how they put that large Nissan throttle body into play. Also, twin T-51 SPL turbos... yikes! ...wonder what kind of fuel system needed to make that kind of combustion?

The HKS Drag Supra has done a couple shake down runs in Japan last month,

7.27sec 0-400 , I dont know the MPH off hand though.

The car is using the 1UZ-FE motor and two HKS Ball-Bearing GT3450 Turbos.

The car will continue to run in Japan this year and should be have 6 sec timeslips. The may see US shores next year. For the time being, HKS USA will campaign the 7.37sec 0-400 HKS Drag 180SX for 2002.

HKSpowerGS4,

Thanks for the clarification regarding the size of the turbos. You mean GT3540s correct? UPResearch and Development used 3450s on Javier's Supra with the help of Motec. Anyways I got my facts from "Mr. K." two months ago. He also said the track had a bit of a downhill. But you mentioned tracks so...

epk,

You can do just about anything with the proper facility and competent engineers. Just pray there are existent parts (for the engine) available to cut the costs of fabrication. The 1UZ came on pre-VVT-i Celsiors I believe. The date of production were October 97 and before.

Will a custom T-51 work with a 98-00 1uz-fe?

Well, we got more displacement so there's an upper hand. Plus we're an iron block rather than aluminum alloy. In an all out race motor, there would be precautions I'd take to reach those numbers (like a rocked block).
