I really want one, but $15 shipping seems pretty ridiculous for an air filter. Am I just being cheap?

$15 for shipping is a bit deep, but that's how they make money

It's not that bad...
The box looks pretty long, so I'm sure it will be in a larger sized packaging..
You also have to consider shipping materials & etc...

So it really should be described as "Shipping & Handling" if you ask me...

So whose gonna do the dyno comparo? We already have dyno's showing a gain with the JOE Z tube, so now we all we need is either a JOE Z tube dynoed with the stock filter and then the Blitz and HKS filters, or even the stock set up with all three filters would work. IMO, 1 or 2 rwhp probably isn't worth $75 or so for the filter, but if it could possibly squeeze out 3 rwhp then that added to the 6 rwhp of the JOE Z tube and now we're talking. $185 for approx. 10 rwhp would make me happy. Any takers?

I'd be happy if i got 5 HP from both combined, in any event I just ordered a Joez pipe, and a Blitz filter...

Well...according to these dynos tests (http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=283691) the tube itslef makes 4rwhp for you (and 6rwhp on the 250). That's why I'm saying if the filter itself adds an extra couple rwhp (i.e. more than 1 or 2 rwhp) then I'm a happy camper.

Tube:
$110 for (in my case) 6rwhp, not bad. That's about $18.50 for each horsie.

Filter:
$75 for 1 rwhp, deifnately not worth it. Now, at 3rwhp or so, it's worth it. That' s why I'd like to see some dyno results.

If I'm not mistaken, one of the mass produced intakes (was it LMS?) actually robbed the engine of a few rwhp, and I'm sure it costs a pretty penny too boot. Thus, although money is not my main concern, I definately don't want to spend my hard earned cash and get nothing in return, or worse yet, actually decrease performance.

you get a really nice noise when your rpm is around or above 4 rpm.

Also, just a quick correction, you mentioned twice it costs $75 ...

The Blitz Filter MSRP is $52....
