Default gte swap clearances. attn: epik/craw/bluelex

i've been doing my research, but still haven't found a picture or any measurements on the firewall/heater core clearance issues. any idea on how much property needs to be moved in order to fit the stock gte manifold?

if the stock has this problem clearing the firewall- does an aftermarket twin manifold? or an aftermarket single manifold?

also, any difference in the gs300 and gs400? does the 400 provide any more room in the back of the bay? has anyone done a 2JZ swap into a 1UZ 4.0 chassis? i understand that may be a round about way of doing things consisting of a diff cross member and suspension/transmission- to say the least.

just sold my 02 maxima 6spd, to build a GS twin turbo. I am a former supra 7MGTE swapper as well, coming back to my roots I guess.

i just test fitted my gte swap the other day and had no clearance issues. i'm running a single turbo, not the factory twins, so i cant comment on that fitment. the only problem i had with the motor swap was so motor mount issues. apparently the early versions of the GTE motor have different mounting points for the motor mounts. nothing a quick bracket didnt fix though.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. the motor slides right in like a glove, no need to bang out the firewalls like on the 1st gens with gte swaps. it will be fine with both the stock twins or a single upgrade.

Now as far as that color, dude. my buddy had his painted that color and it was just aweful. Cosm was his screenname. Pick another color please...

I have a 93 GS and i'm using a custom built manifold for my bigger twins.. so no clearance issues.

i like that 350z blue.. I'm actually thinking of Scion blue for my car.. it's on the Xa and Xb.

The only clearance isue I had was with the stock twins and the heater core on the fire wall. I had to do a little tweeking to get it to work. If you go single this will not be a problem.

Who built the manifolds and will they make another set. I was going to do HKS, but I would rather build a custom setup.
