Agreed, I had mine removed around the Y pipe.

i had to have mine removed two days ago as i had a exhaust leak underneath one but i was more referring to the main heatshield

This was the cause for my rattling during acceleration and idling, taken from near the Y-pipe. It would rattle and rotate around, making the noise.
