OK I'm bumfuzzled. . .
Ok, here's my beef with my car:
Shortly after registering on CL I posted a problem I was having with my car. And that problem still continues: It won't start unless I coax the throttle with my foot. Then I have to feather the throttle for about 20 seconds until it decides to stay idling on it's own, albeit @ 400 rpm or so. Once driven for 15 minutes or so it idles as it's supposed to. I've changed the fuel filter, ran fuel injector cleaner through it numerous times, put a new MAF sensor in, new air filter, inspected the MAF sensor housing, cleaned the throttle body even though it didn't need it, and ran codes to find that there weren't any. The car seems to run fine other than that. Once in a blue moon it will hesitate for half a second when it's cold. It gets the advertised gas mileage, sometimes better. I'm simply stumped. I'm about to take it to the devil (Lexus dealership), where they'll tell me I need a new engine for $50,000. Any suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks ya'll.

Matt, i dunno if i suggested this before, but any simple leak in the tube that runs from the maf to the intake will cause this sort of operation also. i'd remove the tube completely, put pressure on it and squeeze it and compress and expand until you can verify that there are no cracks in it at all.

Yeah I thought of that, and therefor checked the tube for any cracks or holes. All I could find was a half-inch long crack at the very end that came out after the clamp. So the crack seems to come after the actual seal provided by the hose clamp. Thanks for the suggestion.

Check the intake manifold gaskets. If you have ever removed the plenum and re-installed w/o replacing the gasket, that might be the culpret, but honestly it sounds exactly like an intake leak. Make sure all the hoses are connected correctly and sealed tight. Check and double check any clamps, etc. Use hylomar on all gaskets, as its non hardening and works great. Is the intake resonator cracked?
try this, get the car running and idling. Then start spraying carb cleaner around all the intake parts. If the rpm's jump at all; you found your leak! But this really only helps for bad vaccum leaks. Its worth a shot!
Good luck.

Keith -- I haven't removed the plenum so I wouldn't know if the gasket is damamged or not. I'm going to try spraying the carb cleaner around like you suggested. Like you said, it's worth a shot.
Bean -- I'll check that too. Thanks for the advice guys!

Do 1UZFE's have cold-start injectors, or anything similar to that? And I don't know if this has anything to do with the other but, the idle doesn't step up when the compressor comes on, it drops about 150 - 200 rpms. Crazy Lexus. . .
