Where to find egg cups for BFI #3 Stateside?
I plan to do the BFI Intake Mod over the next several weeks. However, I have had trouble locating the egg cups mentioned on Planet Soarer and I really want to use them in my BFI. Has anyone located a source in the States for the egg cups?
I even tried emailing Peter Scott, but have yet to get a response....
Suggestions?

Not sure how much they will cost over there... but I had a couple of velocity stacks out of an EFI motorcycle airbox.. they pretty much all have them. Maybe phone a wrecker?

Thanks for the suggestion on the Velocity Stacks, Fred. However, the cheapest I have been able to find in doing a quick search is $40.00 each!
The $2.00 each solution offered by using the egg cups suggested by Peter Scott would be much preferred. In his notes he says that they can be found at Woolworths in Austrailia. Woolworth stores are not in the US.
I have looked at Target, Wal-Mart, Bed Bath & Beyond, & all of the cooking stores on the internet I could find, but have been unable to locate.
Anyone in Aussie Land willing to ship?

Next time I'm down the shops I'll see if I can find them for ya
Looks like postage is gonna set you back around $10-$12 US or so though... if anyone else out there wants some (assuming I can find them), speak now and maybe you can organise something with FaceUT to ship them on to you. If I can find them, I'm only doing this once.

The reason for putting those on escaped me, I could not find source either and ended up skipping the stacks altogether. I just cut off the face. Thought the stacks looked cool, but never in the months after I did BFI mod have seen that area again. Doubt anyone would be looking there or ever notice it.
Ok, so what's the reason for the stacks again?

My $0.02...
I think I've seen the pic of this mod before... if this is the one where he has what appears to be stainless steel bowls and cuts the bottoms out of them.
My solution to you is to go back to Wal-Mart, pet section, and look for a small stainless pet food dish. I saw them when my gal-pal was getting our new kittens' cat litter and I pointed them out to her and explained how I was going to mod my airbox with them.
I can pick a couple up tonight and post pic if ya want... and if you really want, I can send you a couple but you pay postage.

Just go to Wal-Mart, and find the appliances and kitchen section. They should have some 5" or so stainless Ice cream bowls. I used those for my BFI. Work great, look great!! They are so big that 2 will fit perfectly over the whole front face of the airbox. They are difficult to cut, due to stainless. I cut them with a chop saw. A dremel might work, but you will need a very strong disk, and probably several of them. If you use a chop saw, you will need to be most careful, as that saw could remove your hand.

As for possible locations for egg cups, although I haven't seen them there you might want to try a dollar store. They usually have odd ball items from time to time.
