Talking Something is brewing

Let me say that I probably won't see my car for a couple months but when it is done it will be a beast. More news to come. Everything is changing. Actually the car with everything modified will take about 6 months. I have a whole list of stuff happening but if anyone wants to pitch in ideas that they think I should consider before the car goes under the knife again, please reply. I want to finish the car up so I can restore everything and paint.

The whole turbo install is going out (T04 to T-64)
The tranny as you guys know is going to be SP400
The console is being swapped for a custom computer controlled one with touchscreen
New stereo
New leather
New wood steering wheel

I doubt I will do the hardtop convertible attempt on this car now.

Any donations? :P Hehe j/k <====not really

I have a lot of stuff that is coming out of the car too. Almost a total redo on the car. Doh.

My goal is a pristine SC that reliable goes 0-60 in under 3.5 and does the 1/4 mile in under 11.5 with the AC and a movie on.

I might carbon fiber sections to reduce weight to balance the car.

Suggestions please. I don't want to finish and then restart the project.

Not sure. I really like black which it is already but I would use a deeper paint. Something with a mirror shine so clear I would hesitate to rub it with a baby diaper. I also thought silver but I would have to completely disassemble the car which would be a pain. I wouldn't want to be lame and have different colored door jambs. Do any coatings on the car really work or are they all BS? I know one Lexus dealership in Oxnard coats their Lexi but I am unsure of the long term results. Looks really glossy on the showroom floor though.

Mike, you should have the entire interior converted to black. See you in nine months for another ride!! It's all about hitting 100mph on a freeway overpass!

REALLY think about that SP400 before you do it. Just remember the car WON'T be a daily driver after that. I'm looking at some Lenco's, or maybe just a 200-4R with overdrive. Something more street-friendly for daily driving.

SP400 ( I personally would go with a B&M TH400 and adapter kit) is quite daily driveable, it's a tad noisier than the stock transmission, but most people will take the noise over a comparable stock rebuild that is only going to last 2 runs.

Yes - You can get an aftermarket OD but it's not really necessary. If your looking to be Top Gun on the highway you use a Supra 6spd read end, if 1/4 mile is your style then stick with Auto rear end. Since your going with a smaller turbo you probably won't need a big transbrake either.

Wow, that is a serious project.
Looking foreward to seeing the updates and the finished product. Going to be a monster by the sound of it.

Having trouble deciding on a turbo. Right now it is either the 63 or the 67. I don't want lag but I do drool at the way people say the 67 pulls over the 63. Any thoughts?

I thought about doing a Th400 on mine but I recently acquired a Holinger 6spd Sequential Transmission im gonna try out. Guess it'll be on the extreme side of streetable.
