Default Bubbling noise??

My mom tells me that my car is making a bubbling noise ... It only happens when the car is in motion... any of you guys have an idea of what the hell is wrong? Its not the power steering pump is it?

Just to let you know I had my 60K mile service done a month ago.

Maybe the water pump? My power steering pump went out and it made a whining type noise.

How does the temperature gauge look while this bubbling is going on?

According to her, all the gauges look normal... Im not sure if the mechanic who did the 60K mile servicing replaced the water pump, something that is recomended since it is much easier to just do while the engine is taken apart due to the timing belt replacement. If it is the water pump that would suck. The car did come with a full 2 yr warranty despite its age thankfully.

That sounds strange. I hope you find out what it is and that it's not too expensive.

Just out of curiosity, why is your mom driving your car?

I'd look at the water pump too. Mine went bad 2 months ago and it was making a bubbling noise.

Sounds like possible air in the cooling system.

Try revving it while in neutral and see if the sound is coming from the center of the dashboard area.

If so, they will have to try to purge the air from the system.

Allow me to explain why my mom drives my car. I go to college at Umass during the week, and to save my lexus from the potential jealous kids, countless numbers of cold-starts and such, I drive her god awful, 99 civic to school and she uses my car for the very few errands she does, amounts to about 30 miles throughout the week.

An added bonus is how frikkin fast my car feels after driving that POS for a week... and also the extreme comedy behind the fact that her car is 7 years newer than mine and it runs like beat up tractor.

i noticed a similar noise and it was coming from the rea. I figured it was the gas in the tank as that is the only liquid there

Oh, so how much does it cost to replace the water pump from a toyota dealer? My warranty's deductable is 100, will it be about that, thus saving me nothing?

I believe a new water pump costs around $250-300. Add on labor and you're saving a lot.

If you are replacing your waterpump, I hope you are also replacing your timing belt as well. I think the belt is about $70.00. Is this right, guys?

i know this thread is old as crap, but i figured i'd revive it instead of starting another thread about the same thing. i just bought an 93 SC3 about a week ago, and i notice when i accelerate, i hear a watery, bubbling sound coming from behind the dash. glove box area actually. just curious if the original poster or anyone else had figured out what was up, and was able to fixed the problem. thanx in advance.
