Default What's your RPM @ 80MPH?

Just curious what the RPM should be at 80MPH on an SC400 with the overdrive engaged. Mine is higher than a 4-cyl Grand Am at the same speed, which doesn't make too much sense to me since the 8-cyl should be lower.

Ok, that's exactly what mine is, 3K. Just wondering why it's so high when my 4-cyl, with a lot less torque I am sure, Grand Am can cruise at 80MPH reving just around 2.7-2.8K.

Mine's about 2800. 3000rpm is 85mph.
V8 Thunderbirds cruise 80 around low 2000rpm.

I just came back from some freeway driving.

Mine's near 2,800 to 2,900RPM or so at 80mph.

It's all about the gear ratios.
