what's up with the '92s?
I noticed that the FMAX SC300 turbo kit says its for 93+ cars... i emailed them and asked about the 92s and they said "The 92 CPU and Mass Air Sensor do NOT like boost. The kit will fit fine and if you replace with a 93+ CPU and Mass Air Sensor you should be all right..."
does anybody have any details on what changed ECU/MAF wise on the 93s? I'm in the market for an SC300 right now (everybody needs 4 2JZ powered vehicles, right?)... a turbo will be the first order of business of course, and I'm trying to determine if there's a good reason to avoid a '92 model year vehicle...
any ideas?

2jzfan....I really dont think that there is a difference between the 92 & 93 Maf or ECU.
The LS400 maf is just physically larger and allows about 25% more air flow. I used one for a short while during my turbo install
I also mentioned that many use the larger maf while also upgrading there stock injectors with 440 injectors. Hope this helps.

thanks for the info... it seems odd that fmax would limit their market to 93+ if they didn't feel that they had to... the guy told me that they had problems with the 92 maf/ecu, do you think their test car was just flaky or is there really something to this?
anybody have service manuals for 92/93? or access to a parts counter to see if the maf is the same between the two years?
thanks,
Jeff
