Default BFI pics...

Just got back from LA and thought I'd share more detailed pics of the BFI as it is now (still incomplete)...

I had to relocate the HID ballast to underneath the subframe so that it wouldn't restrict flow inside the airbox. OEM ballasts are twice as big and have a limited range from the bulb itself due to the short cable..

Theblue stuff on the side is heat insulated foam. The box is pretty much all sealed when the lid goes on with the exception of some minute slivers between the lid and box.

Cut a new BFI out of 22awg steel instead of the cheapo Home Depot sheet aluminum. This stuff is more durable and sinks more heat...

I taped off the edges of the steel to help block off the small gaps between the box and lid and to help seal the edges once fastened. I will spray paint this stuff with black auto paint and maybe a clearcoat since it isn't "stainless" steel.

Wow. Where did you get the steel? Are you gonna use the same piping you had before?

lex400sc,

I'm also interested in finding out where you got the 22awg steel.

Thanks,
