Default SC300 2JZ-GTE swap Ethan or Cory.

Hey guys, I don't know if you remember me, but I've talked to both of you last year when I had problem with SP and my turbo kit...I was the guy with SP66 Supra from Little Rock, AR anyways I've quite a few questions for you guys about this swap, I've been looking to buy a used-raped SC300 to do this swap I want to know if it needs to be 5spd? How strong are these 5spd trannies on SC300's? I wouldn't expect them to be as good as the Getrag 6spd but will they hold up close to 600ish RWHP? Is 2JZ-GTE conversion the only way to make HP? I've heard of quite a few of NA-T SC300's which cost much cheaper than the swap, how good is the bottom end on 2JZ-GE? Say to achieve 600ish RWHP can this be done with just an NA-T? How many PSI can you push on stock 2JZ-GE say you have a fuel system upgrade and all the goodies? Do I need a new subframe for this swap or the engine will bolt right up? I found $10,500 for the engine swap from PHR is a bit too pricey, do you guys know of any other reputation shop to do this swap that you would recommend? I'm trying to get this project done asap please e-mail me at BoostaholicT66@yahoo.com or post back here. Any links that has faq/info on this swap would be nice.

Appreciated any helps

I've seen you post some silly things, but this takes it. PLEASE DONT POST IF YOU HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT THE ANSWER.

The 2jz-ge can handle WELL over 500 crank. Hell, we have numerous members making over that as it is. I'd be willing to bet the GE can handle just as much as the GTE or at least damn close to it. 600rwhp should be no problem.

I'll agree with you there $10,500 from PHR isn't everyones cup of tea. It actually ends up being little more depending on if you go w/ 6spd and/or auto & converter. My car is currently there getting the GTE swap finished up.

I've heard of people making more than 600+rwhp on the GE engines. As long as your tuning is good I see no problem making the same amount of power as the GTE.

Sorry try it out and pick up broken parts flying around. Call Toyota engineer and talk to them(Call any car engineer). There are limited to piston rods, valves etc.

Your setting yourself up for a huge argument here. I've spoken w/ several GE owners who have gotten over 600+rwhp on stock internals and good tuning. I believe Angel here on the board got 511rwhp out of his GE?

you have to understand... you are modifying everything... I know this because I went thru the tech school at toyota and all, the toyota engineer will not know if the GE block will handle 500hp. because they never get to test it with after market fuel setting turbo,ect.. well I am not a engineer or anything but my freind who is engineer. he told me that it will handle more than 500at the crank easy.. how to tune the car ... codition of the motor is the key to not to blew it up... of course oil and alll and other thing is involved.. but anyway...

as long as my freinds NA-T with nos will not blow up then I dont belive that they dont hold more than 500 at crank..

it might blow up tomorrow but good compression and good leak down so far.. he has been drving his car since last OCT.. no problem. I would like to ask toyota to see why this motor stay together still...

<---- raises his hand..."Mr Kotter...Mr. Kotter"

i have had over 530rwhp on my 100k factory GE block.....and toyomoto had a 10 sec sc300 on stock block running 28psi and nitrous and had no problems...the stock GE block with a head gasket and adequate fuel can push over 600rwhp....
even the is300 engines with weaker rods have pushed out 600 rwhp....on just boost.....so go tell you techs there WRONG
are these the same guys helping out chris rado and his 19 sec drag car....?...mabye thats why the car isnt running....they need Lance and toyomoto to show em how its done

GE block can handle over 600 rwhp....point blank.....has been done MANY times...
Jeff
P.S. someone please buy my car

Because his incorrect/misleading info will only be repeated as scripture by newbies and the ignorant and just lead to more misinformation and bad decision making by people coming to a crossroad on what to do with their car. Just like his BS NOS and S-AFC mods with his magical vacuum leaks. As a matter of fact, I'm headed to that thread right now. (PS....also because I am bored)
