Default clock, radio and cigarette lighter don't turn off

Hey CL!

I am having a problem with my 93 Lexus sc300, this morning i walk to my car to get something out of the trunk and notice the radio was on. I thought it was the craziest thing, i started looking around and also notice that the clock and cigarette lighter were also on , all while the key was not in the ignition. After doing some researcher I've come to find that some people believe it is the ignition switch which kinda make sense but i wanted to see if some one has come across this problem and how did you solve it? I already went thrown the normal channels ( disconnecting the battery and checking all the fuses) my next step is to change out the ignition switch but before i do what do you guy think i should do? thanks for the help!

The 15A Cig and 7.5A Radio fuses only get power through the ACC switch of the Ignition Switch.

If your wiring on your car has never been modified before or hacked, then , your Ignition Switch is the culprit !

thanks, I am going to look into how much it would be to replace it, I think I can do it myself but I don't want to risk it. My alarm also started going off on it own today do you think that has something to do with it? The car 100% stock

What year and model is your car ? Depending on year and model , the ACC pin of theft deterrent / Door Lock ECU gets its power from that 15A Cig fuse , so it can be affected. That pin is not suppose to have power if ignition is off .

That ignition switch should not be expensive at all . But first verify it is your problem. At the tail end of that ignition barrel is the ignition switch , take it out. Get a flat head screw driver and turn it all the way to one side to the off position and observe it it turns off everything.
