Most cost effective way to manual swap SC400
So my girlfriend wants me to swap her SC400 to manual for Christmas. Searching the internet is making my head spin. Reading articles/threads spanning over the last 10 years I can only assume some information has changed. Apparently I can use a W58, CD009, some sort of allison transmission, a KA24 240 trans and probably others. What is actually the most cost effective, easiest way to go about this. She may drift it one day in the future but the car will never make more than stock horsepower (plus, you know, the 85 you get from bolting on an intake).
From research I think the W58 is the simplest but I've yet to do one of these to know if that's true. Also with that trans there are variations for years and cars that they come out of, right? I think I need a SC300 manual or a mk4 supra manual (which also seems like a more rare / expensive route). Any issue with using one from a MK3 supra? Those seem much more easily obtained
Or, even better, is anyone selling a full swap that they have stashed in their garage? That would be mighty convenient, lol.
