I have replaced this on 2 cars and I just went and got a piece of Gates or Goodyear hose and replaced it.

Well shoot, I fixed the main leak from the hose, only to discover another one underneath the reservoir that may or may not have been there before.



Screwdriver is pointing to the fresh oil.


I'm guessing that's the high pressure hose fitting, although it seems like the oil would be travelling uphill from ther to where it's collecting, so maybe it's leaking from the bottom of the reservoir itself? I'll have to dry everything again and feel around for the source.

I wouldn't be surprised if I damaged it in trying to get that 9.5mm hose on. It took an insane amount of force to do so, and my forearms were literally cramped up for days. The reservoir felt plenty solid to brace against, though, so I soldiered on.

There is an O-ring that goes on the bottom of the reservoir that may need to be replaced. It's part # 90301-11016

Thanks, that would be best case scenario for sure.

I'm mostly seeing LS400 info for that part # (saying it goes between the reservoir and pump), but Ali does have GTE / SC400 stuff I don't quite grasp the full context of, which includes it along with a diagram:

Is that the same thing you were thinking, or is there a different one for the SC300?

Its the same O-ring for both setups. Looks like yours needs to be replaced.
Try and get as much PS fluid out of the reservoir before removing as it will all pour out when you lift the reservoir off the base.

Yeah, I planned on using the ol' turkey baster for that. Figure it'll be a messy project no matter what. I think I'll shop for a true 10mm I.D. hose first, though, since I may have to cut off the new one and I'm really not looking forward to putting another one of those on. Are there any silicone hoses rated for ATF?
