Default n/a supra 5 spd.

I've finally started my project and am putting in the 2jzgte. Because I am still a student I want to keep the car extremely reliable and only plan on making around 450hp. I have a friend that has a 5 spd. from a n/a supra. Is this transmission different? Is the n/a tranny better? Thanks for the help!
