Of note, there was no evident power loss above 4k RPM by removing the intake resonator in test 1, essentially replicating what SC300_704 did. The gains are pretty consistent above that point, but there's that odd dip around 3850-4000 RPM. Too bad we can't see what's going on below 3750.
Very interesting. Exhaust is definitely next on the list.

Does anyone know if the 2JZGTE MAF flange is the same as the VVTi 1UZ? It looks very similar. If it's a match, that would open up some more DIY options, with CX Racing having a sub-$60 3" aluminum tube with flange.

the intake looks good, im doing something similar too, I did run a bfi for a few years but feel the need to bring some bling to the engine on my 98 sc400

The flanges look identical, however they are different part numbers. Similarly how the 3UZ MAF will fit on the 1UZ and vice versa, but won't make the engine work correctly. So I think any 2JZGTE compatible intake should work since the flanges look identical.

Sounds worth a try if stumbling across spare parts to experiment with.

So i got around to doing my heat shield for the intake filter, im actually surprised that the gain was more noticeable than my bfi mod.

Card board cutout was for mocking it up then i put it into production using aluminum sheets and weather stripping to block out heat.
