Ive been searching for more information on this kit I have found for door hinge repair on the SC. I read about Demarte's rebuild and came across this part number is 38437. Has anyone used this?

I haven't heard of it. What parts catalog is that # for? It doesn't look like an OEM part #.

That looks to be a universal kit. Heck, Amazon shows it as not being compatible with the SC.

already did. that's why I am asking the community to see if anyone has used a hinge repair kit like this. not just asking for clarity on the part number.

Rezist09 was on a flurry of some 25 posts, all one-liners, probably to get his post count up enough to sell something.

Edit: Hah, called it!

Seen it before lol. Looking for parts to recondition my hinge. if anyone has any pointers, I'm all ears. I seen Demarte's rebuild and am looking for a kit to mirror closely what he has made.

Default SC300/400 door hinges

Guys,
If you need more info on my door hinges, send me an email to: ddemarte@ bigpond .net.au
I have been sending quite a few hinges to the US lately, all customers extremely happy.

Due to the enormous weight of the doors it's one of the few that do break, like mine

Not in the USA. In Australia. Member “Helieng” does the work there primarily on Z30 Soarers but it’s exactly the same for SC300/400’s.

Edit— here he is, only a few posts above. He’s the one to go to:

To my knowledge no one else restores Soarer/SC Z30 door hinges. You’d have to remove yours and send one or both to him. Or you could track down spares, buy those and send them to him for rebuilding for later installation once you get them back in the mail.

Edit: actually it sounds like he can also source Soarer hinges to send over depending on what he has available at the time of inquiry. Since the hinges are exactly the same for both cars it makes no difference if you use a hinge from either one for a given side. LHD and RHD hinges are the same for each physical location on the cars.
