95' Sc400 Expansion tank leaking - What are my options?
Hello.
My wife inherited a 95' SC400 with 95'000 last summer. It's a sweet ride I had no idea just how killer these cars were. It just ticked over 100k not long ago and shortly after having it detailed I noticed a huge puddle under it. Turns out it was coolant. As many other have, the expansion tank is leaking and finding one is next to impossible.
Besides spending $200 for a used one that is potentially problematic, or a new one that's $400+. Are there any other options I've missed? I've noticed while the car is running the tank is nearly empty. Do they make an aluminum replacement or perhaps a vendor here that has another solution? Thanks in advance.

$200 for a used tank? Post a WTB ad in the classified section here and see if you can get a replacement. Be careful not to overheat the motor in the meantime. Check the coolant level and burp the system.
Also, read the info here in the DIY section and see what other tips you can find.
