I dont use my SC for drifting but I know myself and other members run an external derale cooler...

it can be purchased at auto parts stores like JEGS, Summit Racing, etc..

I found several derale power steering coolers online. Are you talking about this one?

My plan was, when going manual, and using the trans cooler for power steering. I believe they have same size lines and the lines are located very close to each other.
Aftermarket coolers are out there too and a few to choose from.

^^ I've heard of using SC400 trans coolers as well.

I liked Stu Hagen's PS cooler setup on SF: he built a custom bracket and mounted a Hayden 678 transmission cooler in the driver's side bumper duct at an angle. I bought one of those but haven't done the setup for it yet.

I'd imagine a factory SC400 trans cooler is easier since it's bolt-in pre-existing on V8's? With an SC300 however I'm not sure if it might conflict with the existing PS cooling lines in the same location or if it would just replace them altogether...

If you are doing a PS cooler...

It would be best to run all new rubber lines to cooler an delete all the factory hardlines....but keep in mind I also deleted the factory PS lines from pump to rack in replacement with PHR PS line

If you have that PHR line going straight from the pump to the rack... where do you have the PS cooler connected? Sorry if that sounds confusing; I've not taken a look at the connections myself.

Did you ever try this? I assume you mean the two unused barbs at the bottom of the radiator? I imagine there's no distinction between inlet and outlet...
