Default 1992 SC400 Won't Start

Guys I need some help with a problem I'm having with my SC400. This has been happening all week. The car turns over but will not start/fire. What could the problem be ?

New battery
New alternator
New starter
New Plugs
New Wires
New distributors
New rotor caps
New ignition coils

The list is
1. Spark [place a plug on the engine block]
2. Timing
3. Air [disconnect the intake and keep the throttle 1/3 ... you should be able to see the flap open a bit]
4. Fuel [starter fluid]

1. No Spark
2. Haven't checked
3. Tried with no luck
4. Fuel is at appropriate PSI and working as normal

No point going down the list ... you have narrowed down the problem.

Now work your way back from the the plug lead -> distributor -> ignition coil

Check the connections and if needed put in the old part.

Not to make you feel bad .. but at times people forget to put in the rotor in the distributor.

So the rotor is not missing, But things can fail [early mortality], connection can fall apart and so on.

Bottom line is you don't have a spark. Timing, fuel and air need to be pursued after you get the spark.

Battery, ignitor, distributor, plugs and all wires and connectors between them need to be traced.

Ignition switch has kill spark (when the switch is moved from run -> acc). The other influencer is humidity/moisture that can rob high voltage.

Start tracing +12v to the ignitor and then onwards.

Some high voltage problems are easy to spot in a dark garage.

Check all the fuses to make sure none of them are blown. If they all look good, check the fuel pump.

Please elaborate ,,,, does the starter spin?
Are you getting spark?

Brake switch (on application .. have a buddy check the brake lights come on) energizes a relay in the shifter to allow moving it out of Park. User manual talks about how to override it.

With the car running, tug/shake wires to igniter, tap the distributor.

It is good to have problems that resolve themselves, but they rear their ugly head at the most inopportune time.
