Transmission wine
Hey guys,
Don't know if this has been covered already, but it's about the transmission in my 93 SC400. There is a wine comming from the right front of the car. The noise increases with speed and decresses as you slow down. As you drop to below about 5mph or so its sounds like a gear downshifting and the wine seems to increase in pitch. I had a Lexus mechanic drive the car with me, he heard the wine and said it was normal. That all SC400s made this noice from the factory. I find this a bit hard to believe, but it is noticable even at highway speeds. Car has 140,000 miles on it. Trans fluid and filter very recently replaced.
As always any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Not to be a ***** here, but this is a time where a mispelling can cause confusion.
I think you mean "whine".
Honestly, I thought "transmission wine" was some slang term for tranny fluid, and you had a leak or some such.

Well you are correct. It is a whine, as in a noise. That's why I stated that it increases in pitch as the speed increases. Hopefully this will clear up any confusion.
