Hey Everybody!
I got a 93 sc300 manual that always idles at 1000,1100,or900 rpms at idle and at operating temp.

I jumpered out the proper pins in the diag box today and the service engine light was blinking. When I achieved operating temp I was idling at 1100 rpms and this is where the marker was. Does it need timing adjustment? iacv? it sounds good and performs but idling high wasting my premium gas. not good.

high idle can be caused by a lot of things ... e.g. IACV adjusting air on the intake to compensate for other things like cold start or something else wrong or the IACV itself being bad , timing on the distributor ,etc ..

when warm, try adjusting first manually the throttle stop screw / bolt and see what happens.

I think I reached factory idle after:
-removing and cleaning iacv. Thing didn't wanna open up though.
-retarding timing roughly 3°
-fixing hole in cat (swapped from my other sc and changed header gaskets)

I do hear a misfire (that goes away) whencar is desending rpms trying to stabilize at 800 for idle. Any thoughts?
