Default Cigarette Lighter and Air Conditioning fuse dead?

Hey guys,

So me and my girlfriend were driving to Long Island on the Belt Parkway, and she needed to charge her iPhone. I pulled out a cigarette USB Charger that I found in my garage (labeled for iPad/iPod, must have been a promo item my mother got), and plugged it in. It was having problems charging her phone, and I noted that it wasn't plugged in all the way. So I pressed it in snug, and heard a pop, and it no longer worked....along with my air conditioner controls.

My question is, by doing some research, it doesn't appear that the cigarette lighter and the air conditioner controls are on the same fuse...or am I wrong.

I did a search and found this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...hter-fuse.html

Can anybody give me any insight? I haven't attempted replacing either fuse yet, I wanted to post up so there was 8 hours of people looking at this thread and giving their advice before this evening when I will have time to work on the problem.

Thanks in advance for the help.

-Michael

If the cigarette lighter fuse pops, so will your A/C controls. replacing the fuse will fix the problem. Stay away from those cheap china chargers.

So I should get a 15 amp and a 10 amp fuse and replace both, correct?

Just a 15 amp should correct the issue. Pull out the 10 amp fuse and make sure its good, though.
