Default 2000 SC400 timing belt guide

Hi guys, is there a 98-2000 timing belt change step by step somewhere..? I couldn't find one for 98-00 even though I have found some for 97 and earlier.. are there any major gotchas that I have to look for?

One question I never seem to find and answer for is how to torque back the crank pulley to 181 ft/lbs.. if you have any tips, please share. Thanks.

This seems to be based off the Non-interference 1UZ's, but the VVTI 1UZ's shouldn't be much different.

masagsxr, I see in your diy thread, you did not have to remove the radiator on your 99?

Hmm.. I'm kind of desperate right now.. removed everything including the camshaft pulley BUT I am stuck on removing the cover just above the water pump..

In masagsxr thread, between his:

3rd pix: Hoses removed and turning the crank to TDC (image 13)
and
4th pix: Crank to TDC as you can see (image 14)

there is this big covering piece, some called it "fan bracket" but on 2000 SC400 this is actually containing the fan fluid pump..

I have marked this in red in my photo below.. I CAN'T get this OUT. Please, help!

I took out four (4) bolts and 2 nuts, I can bulge it with a screwdriver, but it does not come out!!

this is the cover marked. the big sticking out sensor (?) it is just about the a/c compressor pulley. idler pulley and the fan fluid pump pulley are removed.. but the cover underneath it is stuck even after removing 4 bolts and 2 nuts

You have to remove the front two bolts holding the ac compressor on.
I did my timing belt on my 99 sc400 a few months ago.
Btw it's called the hydraulic fan pump.

Thank you.

I got the one on the right, from underneath right up but I could not see the one on the left..

Now it's clear, I'll look for it from underneath as well.

Cheers
