You need to replace the brass crush washer (iirc it is a crush washer) each time you take it off if you want it to seal.

It looks like the only way I can get the gaskets today is if I buy the entire hose assembly at an Auto parts retail store..would you happen to know where I can find these high pressure gaskets without having to wait a few days? Also, Sewell only sells the pressure port gasket (44327A) Not the other two rings (44411D) that belong on the other pressure feed tube. Thanks for the help!

So I ordered the crush washer a few days ago, hopefully replacing this will stop the leak, then I gotta find where the air is entering the system...running out of ideas...actually I am out of ideas...Any input is appreciated!

So I replaced the crush washer with a brand new one, still leaks...still makes noise...every time I start the car AND turn it off ATF fluid shoots out of the reservior...LOTS OF AIR in the system...pump still sounds obnoxious...also fluid level goes UP when it should be going down...can somebody shed any input? My SC cannot be out of commission much longer as it needs to be used...

Thank you.

So I ordered the 108 dollar pressure PS hose off of Sewell as well as the lower hose on the reservior...then I will flush system, bleed system, and do my best to stop the leak with what I have.

when bleeding the air out of the rack. the fluid in the resavoir will go up and down. keep turning the wheel from full left to right and add fluid.

Understandeable, but what I don't get is the PS pump makes a solid grinding noise the entire time...fluid isn't getting to the pump...

So it's been a while...SC still on the jacks (going on 3 weeks out of commission) and I am (as already mentioned) out of ideas.

I replaced the brittle return and feed hoses with brand new Sewell Lexus hoses, flushed the system, (fluid looked new) then tried to bleed the system. Same outcome as last week...screeching PS pump, and rack is leaking pretty bad when running. I cannot identify the leak which makes me suspect this issue has something to do with pressure. I think the leak is coming from the rack seals. The pressure PS solenoid may not be functioning...I hear it click when I turn the key which means it should be working but results say otherwise.Something else, when I turn off the car PS fluid shoots out of the reservior like geyser. This has me befuddled.

Assistance is appreciated!

Here is a video of the noise...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v79P...ature=youtu.be

Sounds to me like it's the PS pressure solenoid...there is a leak somewhere on the rack that I cannot pin point.

Thanks guys!

**UPDATE: No more screeching PS pump! It whines and still is obnoxious, but it's a lot less loud which makes me feel much better running it like that.

I guess it mattered how much ATF you put in the reservior? I had the level to the cold on the dipstick, then I decided what the hay and I filled it to the Hot on the dipstick. I also cleaned the Solenoid connectors with connector cleaner...PS pump still makes noise though and the rack STILL leaks pretty bad...my money is on a partially functional solenoid.

So issue FIXED (for the most part) Pretty sure the solenoid connections were fouled with dirt and grime...I cleaned them with electrical cleaner and I filled the reservior to the max as aformentioned, then I turned the wheel from lock to lock about 50 times at least. I drove it for a good 20 minutes...not 1 second was there any steering malfunction and it even looks like the leak stopped involuntarily..???Really odd, but just glad to have my SC back! Pump still whines though, if it doesn't leave by next month I'll probably just replace the entire solenoid on the rack.

One minor concern...the engine/exhuast was smoking a little bit...smell stinks it is white smoke...never smoked before this...maybe it's just burning the oil coming from the known leak in the rear of the engine? Sure hope so.

Thanks for the input all, as I already made known, I really appreciate it.
