I have a manual 92 sc300 with 95 bumper and piaa fog lights got them wired up nd they shut on but when they are on i can smell burning after awhile and ive found a fuse that is burnt up its a 20amp . Lights run fine do i change the fuse to a higher input? Or if anyone can help me on how they hooked up 95fogs on a 92-94 sc.

What I did when i had 95 fogs, I wired it up to a hid relay wiring harness since I had a hid kit on them. And I tapped into the parking lights.

I might look into a relay but im still trying to figure why a 20amp fuse burning. I tapped into corner lights so lights are also on without headlights. Ima look more into it in the morning but its burning up pretty bad

Update the 29amp fuse was not the problem. It was a smaller black fuse i believe it said 2ab 15amp and it melted its socket pretty bad . Might look into a hid kit and hook fogs to hid kit

HID or not, you need to run a relay with them. Halogen bulbs have a pretty high amp draw considering, generally between 6.5-12amps and at 55w thats a good amount of heat being generated.

Also, the gauge of wire your using to get power to the lights, is it the same gauge or larger? General rule of thumb is your can run smaller to larger (higher gauge to lower gauge i.e.-14awg to 8awg) but do not go larger to smaller (i.e.- 8awg to 14awg), this creates sort of a choke point and can cause some serious issues depending on what your running the wires to.

Here is a diagram for wiring with a relay, and even has wire amperage size:

Thanks man the diagram looks pretty straight forward. I have taken the fuse out and will not be running fogs until relay is done

If I caught that question right, and you want just a bulb with a brighter and more pure white light, get sylvania silverstar bulbs. Anything more blue than that, you may need to switch to HID's and go with a 8000K-10000k. After 10000k, you start to get a purple tint, and after 6500k you start to lower light output, although the lights still look bright they will not illuminate the road as bright.
