The most knowledgable SC people are right here. I am a driver and only know where the steering wheel is. My SC "The purple Bullet" has approx 255,000 miles
My last complete timing belt replacement was 188,000 july 2008.
When should I do the next replacement?
This is my 3rd belt. I've replaced them @ approx 75,000 intervals
i used to drive 100 miles a day but its less than half that now.
I've never had a problem w the motor. All I'v ever done is oil changes & belts. After 6 mos the oil still looks pretty clear. I've never seen a drop of any fluids under neigh it. Calif EPA won't let us touch the engine unfortunately. Maybe thats a good thing cause it still runs like a Rolex. I'm looking forward to the wisdom in this forum.

I would stick to the maintenance schedule that has worked for you so far. 75k is right between the two recommended intervals of 60k and 90k. You could probably stretch it out a bit longer, but it sounds like you plan on keeping it healthy for a long time, so why risk the peace of mind?

I can't believe that car has 255,000 miles on it! How often do you get it detailed?

I give it a summer wax & a winter wax
wash it every once in a while
spray the engine down @ a car wash twice a yr

outside of the paint job & seats the car is totally stock
except for K&N filter & Magnaflows w 3" pipes

I'm at 125K with my original belt, getting it replaced in about a week. I saw someone on here with 170K on the original belt who was just thinking of getting it replaced....

These car's are definitely built to last. I don't see a reason you shouldn't go to 90K per belt. Since you plan on having it a while you should probably get the Extended Timing Belt service, Sewell Lexus has great discounts for club lexus members, if you aren't already using that now is a perfect time to start.

I read somewhere that the belts are rated at 180,000 miles, but that's probably true of anything with a recommended service interval of 90,000, just like milk isn't supposed to be rancid on its expiration date... Some people are willing gamblers, others prefer playing it safe with scheduled maintenance.
