I heard that the bf I is good for the sc400/300 model cars. But I also heard its good for the sc400 not the 300 model. So should I still do the bf I for the sc 300 or just get a air intake system

The only intake that really works for the 300 is a turbo.

BFI is my vote.
Any intake for the 300 that costs more than free is overpriced waste of money.

Butt and ear dyno have proven gains.

On a real dyno gains are in the low single digits.
If you pay no more than $free, it's totally worth the price!

I loved it while I was NA.

Well I seen a bfi 3.3 kit off ebay and online and its selling for 130 bucks. It suppose to come with pieces for the car. It also suppose to improve gas mpg and get up to 17 rwhp from what I read

I bought all the components to make a cold air intake myself for my 300 it was about 50 bucks, definitely sounds nice and the washable metal filter is convenient. Don't know what to say about the performance though

yea def not.

just get something to build the BFI covers that need to be covered. i used corruflute from home depot i got for 8 bucks. build a template out of cardboard and then cut the plastic.

Only other thing u can do to upgrade performance is a full exhaust including headers. U can prolly get a small amount from that. I say save all that money and buy a turbo and set it to a low boost setting and u will gain more power that way

5-speed swap, 4.27 LSD rear, OEM diameter tires and an exhaust are pretty much it. There is an MVP header that is advertised for "15 extra whp" but in reality it loses useable low end grunt in favor of *slightly* more high end and is probably best paired with a track engine on a standalone ECU. Real world gain with that header isn't nearly as dramatic if you just bolt it on without any other tuning. Although you if you want to send your car to Japan and spend 3x or more (easily more) than what it would cost to properly NA-T or GTE swap your car for a max of 305HP you COULD have one of these made as a dedicated (i.e.: non-streetable) track car:

I like what I was seeing in the link until I saw a catch can connected straight to the pcv.. not sure what they were thinking there.

Catch can is an oil separator that drains oil back to oil pan and vents the pressure to the atmosphere most likely. Not a conventional way of doing things but it is effective
